Many of you have been posting comments about one particular email that you keep getting a dozen times a day and need a solution fast because your inbox is being overwhelmed.
Allow me to introduce you to your email filters:
Most email providers have custom filters available that you can create to direct any sort of email with a particular word or phrase in the subject or message body into particular folders. Mine also allows you to directly delete that email. For example, I used to have custom filters on my inbox, back in the day, to filter anything to the trash that had the word "viagra" or "penis" or "enlargement" in the subject header.
For those of you having bulk spam issues with one email arriving over and over, and feel yourselves to be having an email emergency, I strongly suggest this option. Make sure you use a filter word that will not be in any important emails you actually need.
This unfortunately requires you to become familiar with your email settings and preferences, which can be a little tedious and annoying. Your email provider intentionally designs their system to be so annoying that you rarely dare to change the settings. (just my personal opinion)

ReplyDeleteI just want to say that the filters in Windows Live Mail are utter rubbish, no matter if (for instance) I add in the subject line (viagra) they still get through.
ReplyDeleteAlso I had only my contacts to send me mail, and removed them all as a temporary solution for a week only, and they still got through.
How come, does any one know a better solution.
Windows Live Mail must suck, my email filters just fine.
