  1. This must be a scam. I have gotten this several dozen times, each with a different originating E-Mail address and a different "unsubscribe" address. The E-Mail doesn't say this but after drilling down a little one learns that "membership" is $30 a month or $100 a year.
No doubt you have to provide a credit card# which will leave you open to further scamming.

    1. On March 11, 2014 this company informed the BBB that one of their marketing partners had recently violated their agreement and sold their customer data to unauthorized third parties. These unauthorized third parties have sent large quantities of emails to their customers. The company advised the BBB that they have terminated their relationship with this partner. Additionally, they are currently dealing with another company which may have obtained their customer list and is sending unauthorized marketing messages to this list. KidsLiveSafe regrets any inconvenience this has caused any of their customers and they claim that they have taken aggressive steps to ensure this problem does not reoccur

    3. Kids Live Safe: You've been allowed to offer counters to several posts, but this and a few others border on advertisement. This is not a forum for you to gather more clients or discuss your prices. I think you've said enough to convince people, should they be interested in your service. Clearly if someone came to this board, your email looked like a scam in the first place, which is why they googled "you guys + scam", so think about that when you redesign your ad campaigns. Further comments that don't contribute anything meaningful will be deleted.

  4. I just received this e-mail as well and realized when you have to pay for this to see the sex offenders it is a scam. Do not fall for this website. Once they get your credit card they could make all kinds of charges to it.
Please take caution to this website. I was almost convinced until I read where you have to pay for this. A $1.00 does not seem much, but think about hundreds of thousands of people paying for this scam. Why they will become rich over night. Shame on them for allowing this to be published on the net.

  6. i have just recieved one of these emails.. i clicked on the ink and it took me to a wowcher page, the other link was for a holiday cruise!
What should i do? can this be hackin into my email account?..

  7. Like one of you stated, if this is a real service it should be automatically free, but it is not. In fact, every time you get one of these emails, the url or domain looks weird or sometimes you get ip address instead of a domain name. all this only suggests and implies SCAM. In my opinion though, this email alert maybe real. I know for a fact that there are people online checking on the Bittorrent downloads like a vigilante and then emailing to people in the area of this illegal activities. However, this is scam nonetheless because of the way they are doing this.

  11. I just received one of these today. The subject line stated:
Public Safety Alert: A Child Predator May Be In Your Area

and the address it was sent from was:
Neighborhood Alert – Kids Live Safe (a "no reply" address)

  12. I just received this exact email today. Does anyone know if the UNSUBSCRIBE link work so I don't receive future emails from "Kids Live Safe"? -Or would you recommend just deleting it?
    Thanks!

  13. I just received this exact e-mail to my yahoo mail account today as well. luckily it went directly to my deleted folder. I only saw it because I accidentally deleted another e-mail. Looks like it is back in circulation.

  14. I also just recieved this email even after unsubscribing. When i clicked on it so I could unsubscribe myself again, there was no option to unsubscribe. I don't have kids, so it's very annoying to keep recieving these emails in my spam folder.

    1. No offense, but if they are in your spam folder, why even bother? You can just delete or block.

  15. I too have received emails in my home and work email. Unsubscribing doesn't work, it probably just confirms my email address. Get one every day. I have grandkids so I took a second look at it but all the necessary information is available without paying for it. delete!

  16. Got sent a blank message from someone claiming to be kids live safe. It was spelt wrong and baldly set out but it has still made me feel sick.

    ReplyDelete
  17. In essence, "Kids Live Safe" are holding our kids hostage because they are they are helping the child molesters by hiding the list from us. If we don't pay the ransom then the perverts will rape our kids.

  18. I was suspicious about this email, glad I searched first without clicking the link in email. This is the first time I have received this one, actually I got two, the same one about 45 minutes apart.

They prey on our fears. That is the scam too.

I have read online to NEVER click UNSUBSCRIBE, it only makes it worse. This is probably true. I use to do it and SPAM definitely got worse, from the same ones I UNSUBSCRIBED.
Now I mark as JUNK (if it already is not in junk mail box) then delete without looking at it. I get fewer now.
And of course I always do a web search with the word 'scam' added.
Never click the link from the email.

  19. I have received this email / link one time. I did open the email and for 2 seconds I received a view of one page that consisted of programming codes or languages. Subsequently, I was taken to the "Sex Offender" website. I had the option to leave the page or continue. I chose to leave the page and deleted the email. I believe the longer your personal computer is attached to this website, your personal information is technically being gathered and collected i.e. SSN, Address, Emails, Credit Card, Bank Account data that you have used or accessed via the internet in the past. This may be a SCAM in more ways then ONE!

    NOTE: DON'T ACCESS THIS WEBSITE

    BEWARE!!!!!

  20. Yes. This is a scam.

However a little piece of me thinks that the kind of people who believe this kind of email is a good idea and click through the links deserve all they get.

If you found out that someone convicted of a sex offence 10 years ago, but has served his punishment, been rehabilitated and is now a fully functioning member of society is living next door to you, what would you do? Treat him/her as a dangerous and sick person, or treat them as a human being?

  21. Kids Live Save is a legitimate company that offers a service. I don't think they offer anything of value and it's a waste of money. I think it gives you a false sense of security. They have been bombarding me with spam email, and their unsubscribe link signs you up again. I now have at least 4 emails a day "___SEX_OffendersAlert-KidsLiveSafe". I found their website "www.kidslivesafe.com" and called their customer service. They said they outsource their marketing and there is nothing that they can do. And their marketing dept has other affiliates that they have no control over.

  22. I just received one of these emails and goggled it to see whether it was legit or not. Definitely going to take the advice and send it to junk mail

  23. I have been receiving these scam e mails for several months now. I have never opened them. DO NOT open them, DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE....when you unsubscribe your actually telling these people they have a legitimate working e mail which now these marketers will send even more junk. Or hack your computer, whatever they are up to.

I live in the state of FL - we have a free website from the sheriff's office. Most states probably do. Go to your states official site and you will find out where to sign up for "alerts". Kids Safe is probably receiving these alerts (if they are real) and then selling the alerts when we can also get the alerts for free.

  31. Just got this email today and I immediately Googled it. Sure enough it's a scam. They even spelled "kids live safe" wrong. I forwarded the email to spam@uce.gov (a government program dedicated to stopping crooks from scamming people through email). Also, while doing some research I found out that it's completely illegal for spam to be sent via text messages. I received one of these illegal texts so I immediately reported the text spam to my cell phone carrier by forwarding the message to 7726 (SPAM). I'm going to do this for every piece of illegal and crooked spam that comes my way. DON'T LET THEM WIN!

  34. If you feel like wasting the cost of a subscription away, go right ahead, however, when you think about it, this site really benefits you no more than being a nonsubscriber. Their emails (whatever spoofed address they might come from) are designed to get people nervous and edgy until they sucker you into subscribing. Yeah, there may indeed be offenders living near you, THEN AGAIN, THERE MIGHT NOT, too. KLS appears to be an 'enter or join at your own risk' site. Hard to see much the police can't either do for or lead you to if you're curious. Not likely these monsters are going to ask victims if they or their families are KLS members. Law enforcement sounds like the better choice, at least it doesn't require a membership or giving financial information.

  35. Been lambasted with four to five, if not more, emails a day from these clowns. While their intent means well, this info is offered for free since Kids Live Safe services do next to nothing. Say an offender moves close to your location, what do you do? Pack up and ship out, or have them under surveillance 24-7? There's other ways to stay informed that don't cost $30 a month. Shame on these jokers trying to create hysteria with spam.

    ReplyDelete
  36. All of you people bitching about being scammed by this company pretty much got what you deserved. You're so worried about sex offenders living near you that you completely overlook every other danger to the point of foolishness. Drunk driving? Drugs? Guns? Sex offenders have the LOWEST recidivism (that means committing a new crime) rate of any type of criminal, which has been cited by both the Bureau of Statistics and others like Judith Levine as less than 15% for untreated sex offenders, and less than 10% for treated. Your kid has a better chance of being struck by lightning multiple times than actually being the victim of a sex crime.

I am a sex offender. I am truly sorry that some of you got scammed because I understand your concern. I don't want to see anyone hurt, especially children. I am the victim of sexual abuse, too, so I know both sides of the coin intimately. But please, for the sake of your children, would you stop letting yourself be bamboozled by these idiot politicians who play on your fears to get themselves elected where they bilk the taxpayers and don't do their jobs? Yes, use caution. Warn your children. Be alert and informed. But don't be so terrified that others, like this company, can take advantage of that fear.
